Everyone meet Iris. She was found playing in traffic with no collar. About six months older and twenty pounds lighter than our other dog, Apollo, who is a pit- border collie with something else large mixed in. He needed a friend as his two daily walks and hourly wrestling matches were not enough for hi s energy level. They have been kicking the shit out of each other for the last two hours.
Despite her smaller size, she holds her own. She is much squattier with the quintessential
, bowed pit legs.
I know my tile is ugly. We’ve been slowly knocking it out of rooms to reveal our beautifully stained concrete floors, but it is a chore, and probably giving us lung cancer.

Ten years since we adopted her and she's still the best. It took us 4 years to understand we needed a trainer to teach us how to appropriately socialize and exercise her, but with 100% love and affirmation it worked. Neither of us had pits growing up and we thought we knew.

Awesome that they’re getting along. My girl co uld have used a friend to wrestle with. I was way too lazy to work off all her energy.

Good doggo. Also found Dog B in traffic and he is a very good boy... Mostly.

Awesome! I’m on my second round of pits. Got my first when I was nineteen and his sister a few years later, but had friends with them. Lots of lessons learned. I think I’m so much of a maniac that I take all the energy out of them wrestling. Greatest dogs.

I’ve always adopted pits with the expectation that they would get along with other dogs. It’s been nice to be proven wrong.

I’ve only had pits, and they’ve all done it. Bunch of weirdos.

In the corgi world, that sitting/laying position is known as the “sploot”. Congratulations! Ozzy says Hi and welcome to the Oppo pack!

It was one of many weird traits that dog had... But he was a big sweetie, so his weirdness was easily forgiven.
